Samuel Raleigh Hubbard, Third Child of Five, Third Son of Thomas Kirk & Lucy B. (Epperson) Hubbard.

Husband of Ann Jane (Mills) Hubbard whom he married on December 12, 1849.

Father of Ten Children: Sallie (Wright)(Price), Lucy (Cheadle), John G., Samuel R., William H., and Florence (Price), Samuel Raleigh, Robert Lee, (Rev.) Walter J. and Ellen Irene Hubbard.

Before the start of the Civil War, he was an Overseer on a Plantation in Halifax County, Virginia.
