Credit to Denise Ottoson for all this great information.

Hoyt was initially interred in Seattle's GAR cemetery but was moved to Mount Pleasant cemetery 2 years later after the death of his wife. Records indicate he had a headstone at the GAR cemetery that was removed at the time but Mount Pleasant did not receive it and he has rested in an unmarked grave since 1924.
A headstone now has been provided by the VA and was installed on 9/4/21 above his grave. Mary is buried next to John in an unmarked grave. No living descendent of hers have been found which is required to gain permission to place a marker on her grave.
