Ivora (Ivy) Mae Elenbaas, of Cadillac, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. She was 82.
She was born in Manton on September 29, 1929 to Clarence L. and Vera (Vandercook) Hower. She was married to Loren B. Miller and he preceded her in death. She married Jacob D. Elenbaas on December 13, 1968.
Ivy worked as a school crossing guard and was employed at Saf-T-Mate and Goss Canvas. Ivy and Jake later owned and operated Cadillac Mobile Homes until retirement in 1975. Ivy and Jake wintered in Florida where she enjoyed her time with their many friends. She enjoyed the casino, knitting, crocheting and spending time with family.
Ivy is survived by her husband, Jacob; daughters, Bonnielou (Jerry) Hawkins and Sandra (Mike) Deming all of Cadillac; step-sons, Jacob Dean (Sue) Elenbaas of Florida, Michael (Kitty) Elenbaas of Farmington Hills, Timothy (Charlene) Elenbaas and Brian (Jackie) Elenbaas all of Cadillac; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jeanette and Mina; and her brothers, Richard and Clarence.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Moose Lodge on Boon Road in Cadillac immediately following the graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
