Mildred Black

Mildred H. Black, 88, of Pine Street in Dansville died Sunday (Mar. 17, 1991) in Noyes Memorial Hospital.

Born Mar. 1, 1903, in Waverly, Pa., a daughter of William and Mattie DeLong Hower, she was married on Nov. 20, 1922, in Belmont to Paul Black who died in 1963. Prior to retirement she had been employed at the former Blum Shoe Mfg. Co. and the former F.A. Owen Publishing Co. in Dansville.

Surviving are two daughters, Sister Camille Marie Black of Maryknoll and Virginia Treat of Elmira; a son, Paul of Dansville; two sisters, Lena Rice of Andover and Alice Hamsher of Dansville; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A service was conducted Wednesday morning in the Chamberlin Funeral Home of Dansville with the Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley officiating. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dansville Public Library.
