Howard Autrey Howell was one of five children born to James Marion and Harriett Clementine (Scoggins) Howell. He is the grandson of William Burdine and Alvina Jane (Sewell) Howell and great-grandson of Isaac and Margaret (Tucker) Howell.
He met and married Trixie Mae Lowry, daughter of Joseph Wheeler and Nancy A Lowry. They had seven children: Howard Lowry Howell, Dorothy M. Howell, Clarence Homer Howell, Helen Howell, Lois Howell, Betty Howell, and Roland Howell. Unfortunately, they lost two of them during the influenze outbreak of 1920, which proved so devastating to so many families across the country.
WWI draft card lists his birth county as "Fulton" and the
Florida death index lists his death place as Duval County, Florida.
Autrey worked as a locamotive engineer for the railroad, based in Atlanta. The lived at 17 Luckie Street in 1920, but the 1930 and 1940 census documents list the address as 243 Luckie Street, Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia.
Any further input from family members for this family will be greatly appreciated.
