Willie B. Howard, 73, passed away June 8, 2014. She was born in Washington, NC on December 26, 1940. Willie graduated from Crestwood High School. She retired in 2002 after 30 years of service with Sentara Nursing Care in Portsmouth as a LPN. She was also employed as a CNA at Thornton Hall. Willie was a member of St. James Holiness Church of Christ Disciples for over 50 years. She was the church mother, deaconess, trustee, hospitality, prayer warrior, worshipper, praiser, and pastor help. She was predeceased by her son, William Howard; dad, Alton Moore; stepfather, Clyde Walker; sister, Betty Jordan and grandmother, Betsy Simmons. Willie leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, James C. Howard Sr.; sons, James Jr., Mark, Ruben, Stacy, Jason, Rudolph, and Timothy; mother, Queen Walker; sisters, Sandra and Marie; 24 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 15 nieces; 10 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
