She was a charter member of Island Creek Baptist Church. She was 83. Preceded in death by: parents, Arthur and Dinah Houston; daughter, Dorothy Louise Rodgers; and brothers, Lloyd and T.R. Houston. Survivors include: husband of 68 years-Erskin Rodgers; Daughters and sons-in-law-Ruby and Bill Hitson and Esther and Bill Moore; Sons and daughters-in-law-Glen and Edna Rodgers and Troy and Jean Rodgers, all of Madisonville; and Fred and Pat Rodgers of Vonore; Grandchildren and spouses-Charlene and Dennis Cagle of St. Louis, Mo.; Lisa and Danny Lingerfelt and Tammie and Dennis Lingerfelt, all of Madisonville; Wayne and Donna Rodgers of Kannapolis, N.C.; Rodney and Beverly Hitson of Maryville; Keith and Melissa Hitson of Benton; Jason Hitson of Athens; Robert and Pam Rodgers, Freddie Rodgers and Mary and Eric Huff, all of Vonore; and Sheila and Dennis Montooth of Sweetwater; Twenty-three great-grandchildren; Sister-Zendalee Carroll of Madisonville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, in Island Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Williams, Rev. Steve Teague and Rev. Charles Cassady officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery
