Birth: Mar. 7, 1922
Pittsburg County
Oklahoma, USA
Death: Aug. 8, 2011
Tulsa County
Oklahoma, USA

Born Mar. 7, 1922, in Clonsilla near Adamson, she was the daughter of George and Hannah (Dobson) Housley. Her family moved to Idaho when she was a preteen and she graduated from high school there. She returned to Hartshorne as a young adult to visit her sister and was introduced to Robert "Bob" Chronister. They were married Aug. 16, 1941, in Hartshorne. They made their home in Hartshorne until two years ago when they moved to Broken Arrow to be near their sons. She worked at Dollins Chevrolet and as a teller at the First National Bank in Hartshorne. When Dr. Roy Honeywell opened his medical practice she went to work for him as his office manager and worked there until his retirement. She was an avid supporter of Oklahoma State University sports and always watched the games that were televised, but her real enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Hartshorne First Baptist Church where she was the pianist for many years and was more recently a member of the Haileyville Baptist Church where she also played the piano. A resident of Broken Arrow, formerly of Hartshorne, she passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK at the age of 89. Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Chronister Sr., of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bob Chronister Jr., of Tulsa, and Gary and Marilyn Chronister, of Broken Arrow. Also, two grandchildren, Robyn Chronister, of Tulsa, and Justin Chronister and his wife, Stacy, Laurel, Md., and two great-grandchildren, Noah Chronister, of Tulsa, and Cade Chronister, Laurel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eight siblings. Pallbearers will be Nick Barone, Ted Evicks, Phil Lay, Ron Hunt, Herman Colvert and Ricky Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Shirley Mathews, J.R. Chaney, Pat Wilcox, Larry Hall, Sandi Rose, Allen Smallwood, Bob Epps, Frank Barone, Mark McCullough, Gerry Barone, Gary Maddox, Tommy Barone, Frankie Deere and Delbert Warren.
