NEWELL - Rosalee Ash, 77, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2009, at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born in Buckhannon, W.Va., on Dec. 12, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Marian Clyde and Delia Gay Strader Houghton.
Rosalee retired from the clayshop at Homer Laughlin China where she was a handler, after 45 years of service and belonged to the GMPPAW union local 419.
She was a member of the Newell United Methodist Church and its Women's Society and was active in the Wells High School Alumni Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lee Wolfe.
Survivors include her husband, Sherl Ash; two sons, Leonard Wolfe, of New Cumberland and David Ash, of Woodstock Valley, Conn.; three daughters, Irene (Tom) Javens, of New Cumberland, JoAnn (Tom) Stine, of Newell and Mary Ellen Miniaci, of Girard, Ohio; three brothers, Jack Houghton, of Mt Sterling, Ohio, Lamar Houghton, of Atkinson, N.C., and Dale Houghton, of Concord, Ohio; one sister, Ilene (Robert) Newton, of The Villiages, Fla., 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Ethel Dunaway will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester followed by entombment at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens. Friends may visit on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
