He was born in Richmond on April 9, 1906, a son of the late Elmore Delos and Annabelle Forbes Hotchkiss Jr.
He was a retired employee of Brockman Chevrolet in Amherst.
He was a long-time resident of the Wintergreen area and known by area residents as "Bearman."
Surviving are two nieces.
A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton, conducted by the Rev. David W. Pittman.
The Etter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
