Her mother worked for Lockeed Aircraft, and later the catering business. She had a half brother, Karl E. Flenniken, who preceded her in death.
Linda and her parents moved to Bakersfield in 1945 when she was six. She attended Standard Elementary School and North High School. While at North High she was Art Editor of the yearbook, Snow Princess at the Winter Prom, involved in GAA and Art Club. While a senior at North High she was a Campus Deb Representative for Brocks Department Store where she worked, did extensive modeling, and along with other Campus Deb Reps from other schools, spent a week, in Hollywood with the stars touring sets, dining with Cecil B. DeMille, visiting Tony Perkins, Robert Wagner, Jerry Lewis, Jayne Mansfield, Clark Gable and many others. Compliments of Brocks Department Store, this was a memorable experience for her.

In 1976, Linda graduated from Bakersfield College with her RN license. Linda worked between Kern Medical Center and San Joaquin Community Hospital for the next twenty years. She spent fifteen years at San Joaquin Community Hospital working on the Heart Team and teaching. She loved her profession and felt she had chosen the right career.
Linda married Norman Fredricksen August 31, 1990. In 1998 after finding out she had Breast Cancer, she retired. She felt she needed all her time and energy to fight her disease. After chemotherapy and radiation however, she took many cruises, trips to Europe, and spent three months in Alaska in 2000. She loved to travel with a passion.

Her friends and family called her the Energizer Bunny because she just kept going and going and going. But she knew her real source of strength was the Lord. She felt so blessed because she suffered so very little. She also wishes to thank the many people she met throughout her life that enriched it so.
