C. Edward Horton of 209 16th Ave., Juniata died unexpectedly at 1 am yesterday, Feb 29 1976, at his home. Mr. Horton retired as a blacksmith from the Pennsylvania Railroad in July 1967 after 48 years' service. He was born Aug 30, 1902, in Juniata Gap (other documentation states Roaring Spring), a son of Emmanuel and Annie (Zook) Horton, and married Helen May Anderson Jan. 19, 1927. Surviving are his wife, three children, William R of Altoona, Charles E. Jr. of Lynchburg, Va., and Mrs. Susan Harley of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren, and three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Mary Wertz, Mrs. May Reiter and John of Juniata Gap and Mrs. Elsie Woomer of Juniata. Mr. Horton was a member of Mardorf United Methodist Church. Mauk & Yates Funeral Home made the arrangements.
