Angelo Horten, 65, of Litchfield died Friday, July 10, 2009, at 12:56 p.m. in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
Funeral services for Mr. Horten are scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, at 11 a.m. in the Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Pastor Coye Mabutt will officiate, and burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Litchfield. Visitation also will be Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m.
He was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Alabama to Hosea Lee and Alice (Spencer) Horten. A graduate of Kenosha, WI, High School, he worked for Schutt Manufacturing as a machine operator.
He married Donna Marie Smith in Litchfield; she survives. Also surviving are two stepsons, Thomas Shaw and David Havron, both of Litchfield; one grandson, Tim Connor; two brothers, David (wife Alberta) Horten of McHenry and Charles (wife Nette) Horten of Simi Valley, CA; and four sisters, Lora (wife Pastor Coye) Mabutt of Tuscumbia, AL; Betty (husband Neal) Childers of Hodges, AL, Wanda Robison of Mt. Olive, and Willie (husband Jake) Page of Red Bay, AL.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Dale and Gene Horten.
A member of the Southside Church of Litchfield, he enjoyed fishing, farming, and spending time with his grandson.
