Darke Co. native claimed by death.
An illness dating from a hip fracture sustained more than five months ago claimed the life of Mrs. Emma Jane Blume, 81, widow of William Blume, Wednesday at 12:50 a. m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Omer Smiley, five miles east of Union City.
The deceased was born on June 11, 1861, in Darke county in the Beamsville community the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Horney. She attended the Horney school, east of Union City, and was a member of the Maple Grove Church of Christ. She was united in marriage with William Blume in Mississinewa township, Darke county, on October 15, 1879.
Surviving besides the daughter, Mrs. Omer Smiley, are four sons, Roy, of east of Union City; Daniel, Union City route 5; Ray, Ansonia route 1, and Ralph, Union City route 3; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p. m. (EWT) in the Maple Grove church with Rev. C. R. Elericke officiating. Burial will be in the New Lisbon cemetery, northwest of Union City.
The remains will be returned from the Brooks funeral home in Union City to the home of the daughter where friends may call any time after noon today.
