MARKLEVILLE — Wilma E. (Hoppes) Collier, 95, Markleville, died May 17, 2009, at Saint John's Medical Center, Anderson.
She was born Feb. 9, 1914, and lived in Markleville for most of her life.
A member of Markleville North Christian Church for over 60 years, she had served as secretary of the Sunday school and Ladies Circle.
Survivors include her daughter, Janene (Bill) Givens of Markleville; six grandchildren, Laura (Dan) Wood of Pendleton, Pamela (Dan) Richwine of Indianapolis, Michelle (Trey) McClellan of Canton, Miss., Jaqlyn Collier of Scottsdale, Ariz., Brian (Susan) Givens of Summerville, S.C., and Jordan Collier of Knoxville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Leah and Alex Richwine; Bailey and Robert Henry McClellan; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married April 24, 1937, Robert E. Collier; parents, Robert and Marie (Forney) Hoppes; son, Robert A. Collier; sister, Ruth Williams; and brother, James Hoppes.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, and one hour prior to the service.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Markleville North Christian Church, with Pastor Shawn Easterling and the Rev. Gerald Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
