Mrs. Sarah E. Hopkins, who formerly resided here and in West Crawford, died in Kansas City the first of the week and was brought here yesterday and buried in Hope Cemetery. Obituary next week.
The St. Paul (Neosho County, Kansas) Journal, May 30, 1912
Mrs. Sarah E. Hopkins, formerly of this place, died in Kansas City of spinal meningitis from which she had suffered for the previous week. The remains were brough here and laid beside her husband and other relatives in Hope Cemetery.
Sarah E. Allen, born in Wapello county, Iowa on January 25, 1851, married to Moses Hopkins in 1865, moved to Kansas and settled on a farm near Osage Mission in 1868, later moved to Osage Mission and engaged in business, where her husband died in 1884. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. P. Loftus of Los Angeles, California.
