Alma Maria (Kruse) Hoover, 67, of Nipomo, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011.
Alma was born on September 25, 1944 in Jersey City, NJ to William and Maria (Mattern) Kruse. Alma's family relocated to California in 1952 where she graduated from St. Augustine School in Culver City in 1958 and Anaheim High School in 1962. Alma went on to Fullerton College, graduating in 1976.
Alma had an amazing career working with children in Private Catholic Schools, both locally and around the State. She was the founding Director of St. Mary's Pre-School in Santa Maria from 1999 until 2003, she also taught at St. Mary's Elementary School from 1990 until 1994. From 1994 until 1999, Alma was a teacher at St. Anthony's Catholic School in San Bernardino, CA; she taught at St. Mel's School in Norco, CA from 1988 until 1990. Alma was the Director of Lord of Life Pre-School in Moreno Valley, CA from 1986 until 1988; the Owner and Director of Magnolia Child Development Center in Garden Grove, CA from 1979 until 1986; and also the Director of Rainbow Pre-School in Santa Ana, CA from 1976 until 1979.
Alma is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth; daughter, Dawn Hoover; son, Eric Hoover of Santa Maria. Alma was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Amanda Joy.
