Delpha Marie Barne, age 97, of Clute, Texas went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2011 at Village on the Creek.
She was born May 12, 1913 in Durant Oklahoma to Gay Delana and Dr. Mac Hooper.
Delpha was proceded in death by her parents, her husband Jimmy Barnes, Her three sons, Allan, Ralph and Billy Cook, one brother Charles Hooper, two sisters Grace Dillard and Ze4lda Donaldson. One grandson, Timm Cook and one granddaughter, Donna Cook.
She is survived by one son, Ray Cook(Marie) and five grandsons, Dr. Allan Cook, Bill Cook, Ray Cook, Jr., Anthony and Ralph Cook, and five greanddaughters, Margaret Lambright, Kitty Sanders, Melanie Rogers, Cindy George, Carol Azlin.She has 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Granny had a great love for fishing and dancing. She enjoyed dancing with the Buster Curry BAnd that would perform at Village on the Creek. Sometimes she would dance with every song they played. Granny will be missed by her family and loved ones. Special thanks to the staff at Village on the Creek.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 17th, 2011, at Forest Park Cemetery,off Lawndale in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be at 10:30 am Following hte service at 11:00am. Pallbearers will be gramndsons. Final arrangements by Forest Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
