Elizabeth Sue Hooker Marlar Vreeland passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at her Mandeville, LA residence.

She was born on July 16, 1922 in Memphis, TN to the late Thomas E. Hooker and the late Thelma Murphy Hooker.

Beloved wife of the late Fred S. Vreeland and late Luther W. Marlar; mother of Thomas L. Marlar and his wife Julia; grandmother of Jessica Richoux and her husband Chad, Elizabeth Marlar and Katherine Marlar; great grandmother of Elise, Christian, Chad Jr., and Alyssa; and sister of Norma Battle and the late Thomas M. Hooker.

Age 84 years, a native of Memphis, TN, she lived in Hammond, LA where she and her late husband, Coach Luther Marlar, taught at Southeastern Louisiana University from 1948 to 1978.

During Sue's retirement she became interested in genealogy-tracing her mother's line back to Charlemagne. She was a member of the Daughter's of the "Colonial Order of the Crown", the "Plantagenet Society" and the "Magna Charta Dames".

She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433.

Visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow on Tuesday May 29, 2007 at 11:00 am at Cordova Cemetery in Cordova, TN
