Myra Faine Turner Hooker, age 86, died peacefully Friday in Collierville. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ret. Col. William “Bill” Hooker, four daughters: Linda Woodward (Jim), Birmingham, AL, Jean Penney (Jerre), Huntsville AL, Jeanette Lee (Ed) and Diane Callahan (Kyle), Nashville. She leaves seven grandchildren: Ginger Liles, Steve Woodward, John Lee, Courtney Allen Brent Lee, Zack Penney and Brittany McCall; nine great-grandchildren and two sisters: Dorothy Alford and Margaret Freeman. Myra was born and raised in Gibson County TN. In 1948, Myra married Bill Hooker and they retired after 31 years in the military. She was a member of the Cordova Baptist Church. Myra was a talented seamstress and loved to garden. She will be missed by her loving husband and devoted family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 4th at Collierville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1pm. Burial will follow in Cordova Cemetery.
