Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Interment will follow the Mass in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Alice was born November 18, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas to Marion and Lenora Hook. A lifelong KCK resident, Alice graduated from Ward High School in 1942 and was active in the war effort, like much of her family. Alice worked a variety of jobs to support her family over the years, but her most beloved job was taking care of her home and family. She met her husband Bobby and they married on August 3, 1962; they shared 50 wonderful years before she lost him only five weeks ago on April 30, 2013. Family was everything to Alice; she would sew, cook and keep her home meticulously clean. She had a warm and caring heart and volunteered as a room mother for her children's schools, helping teach children to read. Alice also helped the elderly and low income file their taxes through a volunteer arm of the IRS. She was a very active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for many years, singing in the choir and helping in the Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Lenora Hook; her husband Bobby Gilmore; her brothers, Louis, Albert, Arthur, Phil, Frederick, and Charles Hook; her sisters Francis Correston and Elsie Hook, and her son-in-law, Mark Harmon. Alice is survived by her daughter, Nancy Eakin (Paul) of El Cajon, CA; son, Tom Rautert (Delmira) of Tucson, AZ; son, Louie Rautert (Sherri) of KCK; daughter, Denise Harmon of Alamagordo, NM; and daughter Vanessa Kochevar (Scott) of Edmond, OK; as well as 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and family.
