Linda Hood Baxter, 69, passed away on November 7, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Baxter was a former member of Peabody Baptist Church and a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church for over 20 years, where she was a children's Sunday School Teacher.
Retiring after 30 years from Napa Auto Parts, she continued to work part-time at Home Depot.
Mrs. Baxter was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Baxter; sons, Jeremy and Kelly Bowden; mother, Hazel Hood and brother, Lawrence "Bo" Hood.
She is survived by her daughter, Libby Self (Steve); sister, Ellen Shirley (Lee); grandson, John Thomas Self; aunt, Carlene McGaugh and brother-in-law, Jim White.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially The Friendship Sunday School Class taught by Gloria Jones.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 11 at Kirby Woods Baptist Church, 6325 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119, with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
