The beloved angel, Ernestine Hood, 70, began her joyous life in heaven July 12, 2011.
Ernestine was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Marks, Miss., to the late Lillie May Brown and Thad Scott.
Ernestine was a homemaker, yet most of her time was spent with her family and friends, watching gospel videos or chatting with her best friend, Verna.
Ernestine leaves, to cherish her memory, her significant other of 41 years, L.C. Watson; nine children, Roy Scott of Indianapolis, Ind., Victor (Cindy) Hood, Johnny Hood, Mitzi Jenkins, Delores (Odell) Wilkerson, Garnell (Janeda) Hood, Linda Watson and Sandra Watson, all of Anderson, Ind., and Lora Watson of Louisville, Ky.; sisters and brothers, Annie Croom of Chicago, Ill., Lester Scott and L. Scott Caldwell, both of California, Thad Scott Jr. of Wisconsin; and brother-in-law, Robert Hood Sr. of Wisconsin; 10 grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter; special cousin, Betty Jean Allen; best friend, Verna J. Johnson; godson, Antonio Dabney; and a host of cousins and other family members.
Ernestine was proceeded in death by her mother, Lillie May Brown; father, Thad Scott; goddaughter, Veronica Sweeting; and a host of aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at noon Tuesday at Church Upon the Rock, 303 East 29th St., Anderson, with Rev. Marcus Cooley officiating. Interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Glazebrooks Funeral Services, Anderson.
