Services for Willie Muriel Alger, 85, of Grayson will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2002 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Paul Browning officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery west of Columbia.

Mrs. Alger was born in Caldwell Parish on August 1, 1916 to the union of Henry and Katie Estess Honeycutt and died Monday, April 15, 2002 at the Richland Manor Nursing Home in Delhi.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audie Alger; her son, A. J. Alger; her sister, Eva Allen and her brother, Dewey Honeycutt.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Donna Ainsworth of Grayson; her grandchildren, Ronnie Alger and his wife Stacey, Robyn Steele and her husband Gary, Jim Alger and his wife Vickie, and Kevin Alger and his wife Diane; her great grandchildren, Jonathan Alger, Karen Steele, Dustin May, and Jessica Alger; her nieces and nephews, Bonnie Allen, Berlynn May, Bessie Herring, Katie Gregory, and Dewey Honeycutt; and her sister-in-law, Mary Honeycutt.

Pallbearers will be Dave Cobb, Blaine Cobb, Craig Honeycutt, Jonathan Alger, Chris Hurst, Jerry Allen Hurst, and Shane Hyde.
