Funeral services were held here at 2 p. m. Wednesday for Mrs. H. S. Holtzclaw, 77. Mrs. Holtzclaw, a resident of Coryell County for more than 70 years, died Monday afternoon in the local hospital.
Rev. George Siler and Rev. W. L. Hankla conducted the services at Scott's Funeral Home, and burial was in the Restland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. D. Parham, Preston Parham, Joe Parham, Tom Caufield, George Little and B. L. Maxwell.
Mrs. Holtzclaw was the former Miss Edna Earl Johnson and was born near Stephenville. She had lived in Coryell County since she was five years old.
A member of the Methodist Church, she was married to Mr. Holtzclaw Aug. 19, 1900. They had been residing in Gatesville the last six years.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, William Holtzclaw of Lubbock, Crawford Holtzclaw of New Home and Louis Holtzcaw of Austin; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Gordon of Andrews, Mrs. Ervin Parham of Lubbock and Mrs. Clinton Newlin of Killeen; one sister Mrs. J. H. Vannoy of Lubbock; a brother Joe Johnson of Riverside,Calif.; 30 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
