Mrs. Emma Briggs, wife of John H. Briggs, died at St. Joseph's Infirmary in Louisville, where she underwent a surgical operation. She was forty-five years old and had lived nearly all her life in this city. Last fall the family moved from their residence on Thirteenth near Spring street to a new suburban home on the interurban line, east of Silver Creek. Besides her husband, Mrs. Briggs is survived by her three children, Mrs. Nora Baker, of Indianapolis, and Chester and William Briggs, who lived with their parents. - Public Press 15 Mar 1910
