Virginia Dixie Brown, 91, of Elk Park, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Banner Elk.
A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Betty Brown Holtsclaw. She attended the Holiness Church and enjoyed cooking and her grandkids. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown.
She leaves behind three sons, six daughters, 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Virginia Dixie Brown will be held on Friday, June 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Greene officiating. Family, friends, and pallbearers will gather at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10:15 to go in procession to the Brockwell Cemetery for interment.
