Funeral services for Carl Holmstedt were held on Saturday, August 12, 1961 at 2 p.m. from the Anderson Funeral home. Rev. Neal Pearson officiated.

The pallbearers were: Carl Simonson, Vernon Simonson, Reuben Wagenius, Isadore Johanson, Morgan Larson and Arthur Larson. Interment was in the Trinity cemetery at Holmes City.

Carl Axel Holmstedt was born in Holmes City township on January 24, 1891, son of John and Esther Holmstedt. He grew to manhood in the Holmes City community which had been his residence all his life. He was united in marriage to Anna Simonson in 1925 in Minneapolis.

Mr. Holmstedt had been in failing health for the past two years and passed away at Our Lady of Mercy hospital at Alexandria on Wednesday, August 9, 1961 at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 15 days. He is survived by his wife, Anna, and several other relatives.
