Katie Holmes Bellino, 94, of Benson died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Carolina House in Smithfield. She was born Sept. 19, 1913, in Johnston County to the late James Edward and Mamie Ryals Holmes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Bellino; a daughter, Joann Garland; grandchildren, Kelly Garland and Kurt Garland; sisters, Mabel Johnson and Vera Julian; and brothers, Ray Holmes, Ed Holmes, Howard Holmes and Milton Holmes. She was a member of Benson United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson by the Rev. Ron Patton. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Survivors include daughter, Trease Kay Cooper of South Hampton, Mass.; son, Phillip James Bellino of North Smithfield, R.I.; sisters, Annie Lee Tart, Jean Lucas and husband P.D., all of Benson; brother, Bobby Holmes of Wilson; grandchildren, Tracy and Todd; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Jean and P.D. Lucas.
