MRS. ALFREDA HOLMBERG

Mrs. Alfreda Charlotte Holmberg, 69, member of a well-known Port Orchard family, died last evening at a local hospital. Gradually declining in health, she was hospitalized three weeks ago.

Born Jan. 4, 1885, near Varberg, Sweden, Mrs. Holmberg joined her brothers, Emil Landquist and Albin Nordell in Seattle when she was 17. There she met the late J. A. Holmberg and they were married in Seattle in 1905. They moved to Port Orchard in 1919. Mr. Holmberg died six years ago.

Mrs. Holmberg was a member of Pythian Sisters lodge 17 and Anne Wilson Orthopedic guild, both of Port Orchard.

The family home in Port Orchard is at 315 Sidney st.

She is survived by a son, Carl Holmberg, of Port Orchard; two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Scalf of Port Orchard, and Mrs. Myrtle Honodel of Bremerton; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Emil Landquist, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Pendleton-Gilchrist funeral home at Port Orchard.
