L. ANDERSON
Funeral services for Loretta Holley Anderson, 81, 1316 W. Ural St., will be Friday at 3 p.m. in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She died Tuesday in a nursing home in New Braunfels, Texas.
A resident of Carlsbad for 37 years, she was active in numerous civic clubs and organizations and had served as president for the Business and Professional Woman's Club, the Woman's Club of Carlsbad and Altrusa Club of Carlsbad.
Anderson was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and had served as frive chairman for the Mother's March of Dimes and a cancer campaign. The former director of the New Mexico Motel Association, she also served on the board of directors for the Boys Club of Carlsbad and was a past member of the Boys Club Auxiliary. She also served as chairman for several committees of the local chapter of the American Red Cross and founded the annual Altrusa Smorgasboard.
She was recognized as outstanding retiree by the Chamber of Commerce retirement committee; was selected as Bega Sigma Phi Woman of the Year; and was honored as an outstanding senior citizen by the Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include one son, G.C. Boyer, Canyon Lake, Texas; on daughter, Hazel Cody Monte, Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Gordon Holley, Temple, Texas; one sister Mae Derrick, Houston, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Earl Miller, Clyde Carr, Andy Bindel, Charles Bunch, Bill Taylor and Gene Roberts.
Contributions may be made to the Evening Lions Club or Multiple Sclerosis Association.
