Death: May 22, 1872
Circleville

Wife of John B. Bentley; Daughter of Thomas & Margaret Hollenback.

Newspaper unknown - May 29, 1872
Mrs. Elizabeth Bentley died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. H.N. Robbins, in this city, on Wednesday evening last, the 22nd inst. Mrs. Bentley is supposed to have been the oldest continuous inhabitant of this place, having resided here for fifty-seven years.

The maiden name of deceased was Elizabeth Hollenback. She was born in Hampshire county, Va., October 10, 1781, and was consequently in the 92nd year of her age at the time of her death. Arriving at womanhood, she was married to Major John B. Bentley, who participated in the War of 1812, and together with her husband, removed to Ohio in 1815, locating at Circleville. Her husband died in 1826--forty-six years ago--and she remained a widow during that time.

She was one of a family of fourteen children, but one of whom is now living, and was the oldest person in Circleville, with one exception.

During the past few years, she was frequently prostrated by failing health, incident to old age, and for almost two years preceding her death, was constantly confined to her bed.

Her remains were interred in Forest Cemetery on Friday last, a large number of our people being in attendance. The deceased was known for her many virtues, and was highly respected by all with whom she came in contact during her earthly sojourn.
