LaVerne Holland, 80, a Spokane, WA, resident for 42 years, passed away on October 9, 2007, in Spokane, WA.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane, WA.
LaVerne was born on June 23, 1927 in Lidgerwood, ND to Elmer and Ella David. She graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1945 and then attended Teachers College. She was a teacher for many years, teaching at Norway 2 school, which was a one-room schoolhouse with grades one through eight. She also taught at other schools including Duerr #4 (1945-47), Grant #1 (1947-48), Marboe (1949-50).
She married Mearl Holland in 1948. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and caring for family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mearl; three sons, Richy Holland and Randy Holland, both of Spokane, WA, and Larry Holland of Puyallup, WA; three daughters, Janet Nogle, Cheney, WA, Nancy Porte, Great Falls, VA, and Patricia Morgan, Dalton Gardens, ID; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Lenora Rauchwarter, Sisseton, SD.
