Age 75, passed away Saturday October 9, 2010 at Bortz Health Care. She was born on August 28, 1935 in Detroit, MI daughter of John and Lillian (Geist) Holder. On December 29, 1978 she married William Borener in Belleville, MI and he survives. Joan loved to feed the neighborhood birds and squirrels. She worked as a school teacher in the surrounding Detroit area.
Besides her loving husband of 31 years William, survivors include; one daughter; Doreen Cope of Belleville, one son; William K. Borener of Ypsilanti, five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday October 13, 2010 at Stark Funeral Service, Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gordon Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
