Belva A. Holbrook Comer Roberts, age 73, of the Friendship community, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 5, 1930, in St. Paul, Va., a daughter of the late Robert and Pearl Wheeler Holbrook, and had made her home in Bristol most of her life. Mrs. Roberts was a former employee of the Big Jack Manufacturing Company and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Roberts was the widow of Lewis Comer and was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Comer.
Survivors include her children, Lila Dawson, Anthony Comer, Mark Comer and wife Rhonda and Kenneth Roberts Jr. and wife Beth; four grandchildren, Darla, Michelle, Jason and Alexandra; four great-grandchildren; six sisters, Georgia Harlow, Ilene Hyler, Lisa Woods, Myrtle Holbrook, Jane Greer and Faye Conners; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will conducted Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Shelby Hills Cemetery, with Rev. William Stitt officiating. Pallbearers will be Eddie Cagle, Cody Cagle, Ronnie Feathers, Clifton "Pete" Woods, John Johnson and Bucky Caudill. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Donna Hayes and children and Bonnie Terry for their care and support. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Weaver Funeral Home.
