Doris Hohman French Goody, 90, died of natural causes Oct. 15 at Heron Point Continuing Care in Chestertown where she had lived for the last 18 months.
Born in Baltimore, Mrs. Goody was a graduate of Western High School. She moved to the Linstead area of Severna Park in 1955 and lived there until 1991 when she moved to the Charlestown Community in Catonsville. In April 1995, she moved to the Heron Point community.
Mrs. Goody worked as an executive secretary for Anne Arundel Community College and later, during construction of the second span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, as a secretary for Raymond Draveau and Langenfelder Associates, contractors for the bridge.
During the mid-1970s she was a secretary for Hammond S. Carr and Associates in Severna Park.
Mrs. Goody was very active in the Altar Guild at St Martin's in the Field Episcopal Church and played bridge with several local bridge clubs.
She was a former member of the Linstead Garden Club, assisted in the congressional campaigns of former Rep Marjorie S Holt and was a member of the Auxiliary of Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mrs Goody's first husband, Hugh L French Sr, died in 1966 Her second husband, William Goody, died in 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Hugh L French Jr of Punta Gorda, Fla, and William French of Stevensville, a daughter, R Louise Saunders of Stockton, Calif, nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway The funeral will be at 130 pm Friday at St. Benfield Road, Severna Park Burial will be in Lorraine Park Cemetery in Baltimore
