Carmel Evans, 69, of Belle, Mo., formerly of Marmaduke and Paragould died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital South in St. Louis, Mo.
She was born June 10, 1932, in Holland. She was a retired school teacher and member of Belle United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Aaron Evans; a daughter, Janice Evans; and her parents, Carthel and Opal Hoggard.
Survivors include a son, Tom Evans Jr. of Belle; a daughter, Tammie Gosney of Belle; a brother, Denver Hoggard of Wappapello, Mo.; a sister, Ruby Wooldridge of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Owen Evans officiating. Burial will be at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
