Gideon was born circa 1725 in Hanover County, Virginia. He married Juith Pittman circa 1744.
18 Feb 1761 he received land in Orange County, North Carolina.

Gideon was a Revolutionary War Patriot, giving supplies for the Continental line. DAR Patriot # A132655.

Early North Carolina Census showing Gideon living in Caswell County in 1777. His will was written in April of 1793. His will was proven, 17 July 1793 in Caswell Co., North Carolina.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF GIDEON HOGG
0132 April Court 1793
In the Name of God Amen. whereas I Gideon Hogg of Caswell County and State of North Carolina, being in a weakly state of body but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind that all men must die, do make and constitute this my Last will and Testament in the manner following --

Item, I give and bequeath unto my Dearly Beloved wife Judith Hogg. all my estate both real & personal during her life and all and every thing that I now poses after my Debts are paid, and after her Death to resolve to my son Andrew Hogg and his Heirs.

Item I Give and bequeath unto my son John Hogg one Shilling Currency,

Item I Give and bequeath unto my son William Hogg One Shilling "

Item I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Denton One Shilling "

Item I do give and bequeath to my Daughter Mourning Denton One Shilling "

Item I do give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Thomas One Shilling "

Item I do give and bequeath to my Daughter Agness Hogg One Shilling "

Item I do give and bequeath to my son Gideon Hogg One Shilling "

Item I do give and bequeath to my daughter Judith Gibson One Shilling "

Item I do give and bequeath to my Daughter Rebeccah Shelton One Shilling "

Item I do give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Yates One Shilling "

And I do appoint my dearly beloved wife Judity Hogg Exuative and my son Andrew Hogg Executor of this my last will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have set my hand & seal; and acknowledge the same to be my Last will and Testament this Seventh day of November One Thousand seven Hundred and Ninety. .
