BURT DOWNING, Lucy Anne Lucy Anne Burt Downing was born June 13,1928 in St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas, Texas to William Louis and Lucille Soutter Hogan. She lived in Dallas all her life. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1945 and went to work at the Mercantile National Bank as a secretary. She married W.A. Burt on April 23, 1955. She was widowed in 1987. She married John R. Downing, Jr. on January 7, 2000. She was a lifelong member of Central Congregational Church and was very active in the Women's Fellowship. She also enjoyed being a member of the Dallas Model A Ford Club and made many lifetime friends there. She is survived by her husband, John R. Downing, Jr., her daughter, Laura Jane Burt, her grandson, Logan Burt, her sister, Peggy McCain, her nephew, Bill Tate, and cousins George Soutter, Gene Soutter, Tom Soutter, Lera Anne Oldham, Kathleen Munnerlyn and Barbara Stevenson. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at the East Chapel of the Hillcrest Mausoleum.
