Pauline was born on December 31, 1923 in Waukegan, IL the daughter of Paul and Helen (Camp) Hofmeister. After her mother passed away Paul married Lena Riehl Hofmeister who became a loving part of their family. She married Robert W. Buhrke on April 25, 1943 in Glenview, IL; he preceded her in death on January 26, 2001.
Pauline is survived by her seven children: Joan B. Laehn of Jackson, WI, Janice S. (Rev. John) Schenck of New Holstein, WI, Rev. Richard R. (Rhonda) Buhrke of Shawano, WI, Susan J. (Michael) Taylor of Pewaukee, WI, Dean A. (Karen) Buhrke of Le Roy, IL, Michael R. (Cynthia) Buhrke of Aurora, IL, and Mark A. Buhrke of Marietta, GA. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren along with a sister-in-law: Lois Buhrke Breitzman of Glenview, IL. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Robert, Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Lena, and one brother Harold.
Pauline graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1942. She worked for North Shore Railway in Highwood, IL and for Nelson Printing in Glenview.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington. Pauline's greatest joy was being a homemaker and loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting dish cloths and loved giving them away.
Pauline was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
