Mrs. Bruns was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Luebbering, the daughter of John Wesley Hoffmann and wife Martha "Alice," nee Bliss.
On Nov. 13, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Edward Bruns.
Mrs. Bruns was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Clair, and was active in the outreach program.
She worked for Petrolan Gas Company, Pacific, for six years. Mrs. Bruns was later employed as an office manager by Hobart Manufacturing, St. Louis, for nine years.
Since 1981, she worked in the family business, Midwest Eagle Vault Company, St. Clair.
Mrs. Bruns was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Susan Morgan and husband Roderick J. "Rick," St. Clair; two grandchildren, Roderick S. "Rod" Morgan and wife Chris, Washington, and Alicia McDaniel and husband Corey, St. Clair; three great-grandchildren, Brady and Wyatt Morgan, both of Washington, and Colten McDaniel, St. Clair; one brother, Gordon Hoffmann and wife Pat, Camdenton; one brother-in-law; one aunt; one uncle; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 10, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Clair, with the Rev. Roger Altenberger officiating.
Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Pacific.
Memorials to Holy Trinity Christian Life Center are preferred.
The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
