Betsy L. Billings, 53, of North Vernon passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
A memorial service for Betsy will be 1 PM, Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the First Christian Church with the Rev.'s Ron Bridgewater and Gilbert Schreiber officiating.
Mrs. Billings received a Bachelors degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH in 1979. She earned a Masters degree from New York State University at Buffalo, NY, and a Masters of Library and Information Science Degree from Indiana University.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in North Vernon. Betsy had been a teacher at St. Brigid's School in Buffalo, NY, St. Bartholomew's School, and Indiana Business College in Columbus, IN, Lockyear College and IVY Tech in Evansville, and also at the Pre-School at the First Christian Church in North Vernon. Even after becoming disabled she worked as the first Jennings County Coordinator for the Indiana College Network. She had also been active in the Jennings County schools working as a room mother, a coach for the Odyssey of the Minds, and organizing student book reviews for the North Vernon Plain Dealer & Sun.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements were made in care of Vance-Fisher-Sawyer Funeral Chapel in North Vernon.

Born June 9, 1953, in Lewisburg, PA, the daughter of Frank A. and Lydia Mayer Hoffmann. She married Mark E. Billings August 20, 1983 in Nashville, TN.
Mrs. Billings is survived by her husband, Mark Billings of North Vernon, parents, Frank A. and Lydia Hoffmann of Bloomington, two sons; Christopher and Scott Billings of North Vernon, two brothers; Frank W. (Lee Ann) Hoffmann of Huntsville, TX, and Michael G. Hoffmann of Bloomington, two sisters; Christine (Dennis) Yoder of Clermont, FL, and Ellen (Jack) Morgan of Rockville, MD, a niece; Erin Morgan, and a nephew, Lee Morgan.
