Delbert Hoffmann, age 68, of 750 Chaplain Court, Plymouth, passed away late Wednesday evening, March 23, 2005, at his home after a courageous battle with leukemia.
He was born on April 12, 1936 in Oconomowoc, a son of the late William and Linda Kleinfeldt Hoffmann. Delbert attended St. Paulís Lutheran Grade School in Ocono-mowoc and attended Oconomo-woc High School.
On July 21, 1956, Delbert married Lucille Grothe at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. The couple resided in the Milwaukee area after their marriage, then resided in Hayward for 15 years before moving to Plymouth in 1987.
He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, and then was employed by Link Brothers Company in Hayward for several years. Delbert worked as a city of Hayward employee for many years before moving to Plymouth where he owned and operated A. Baer Moving and Storage Company until his retirement in 2004.
He is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth and enjoyed fishing, going up north, racing and going to the stock car races in Plymouth. His biggest joy in the world was his grandsons.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Plymouth; one daughter, Brenda (Todd) Landry of Plymouth; two grandsons, Jake and Evan Landry of Plymouth; one sister, Lilas (Kenneth) Dinnauer of Oconomowoc; one brother, Dwain (Vi) Hoffmann of Rhinelander; one brother-in-law, John (Betty) Grothe of Plymouth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Kopiness.
Cremated, Location of ashes is unknown.
