Melanethon Hoff mustered in on November 22, 1861 to the 44th Indiana Infantry, CO H. He was discharged due to illness and disease on May 3, 1862 - he died June 3, 1863.

Gravesite Details

Melanethon's original government issue headstone was somehow destroyed years ago. His grave is on the south side of the large family monument but that monument has no epitaph to him.
