Broomfield resident and former Alamosa, Colo. resident William Shannon ‘Bill' Duncan, 31, died June 10, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colo. Bill was born Dec. 11, 1976 in Alamosa to Robert Gayle and Anita Hoff Duncan.
Bill was an entrepreneur and co-owned and operated The Phoenix Group successfully. He was very talented and self-taught in computers and electronics and was very dedicated to his profession. Bill loved animals and especially his four dogs, four cats, and four turtles. He liked people and was known to go out of his way to help. Bill would do just about anything for anyone and had a very likable outgoing and social personality.
His hobbies were computers and electronics, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He often traveled with his wife Annie which he thoroughly enjoyed. Bill also liked to go snow boarding, wake boarding, golfing, and hiking. He also enjoyed tinkering with automobiles. Bill played the guitar and enjoyed both playing and listening to music.
Bill is survived by his wife Annie Durham-Duncan of Broomfield; his mother Anita Duncan of Alamosa; his sister Sarah Duncan of Alamosa; his special niece Tori Duncan of Alamosa; his maternal grandfather William Edgar Hoff of Arlington, Texas;, his father-in-law David Durham of Montrose, Colo; his adopted family JR and Kay VanGieson; brothers and sisters Roni and Mike Wisdom, Greg and Kathy VanGieson, Scott and Sharlene Van Gieson, Rochelle Enequist, and Eric and Donielle VanGieson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, other relatives and extended family. His father Robert, maternal grandmother Fannie Sue Hoff, his paternal grandparents Shannon and Beulah Dean Duncan, his uncle Michael Carr, and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen, and a memorial service will be held at 11 am Tue, June 17, 2008 at the Alamosa Christian Church, 410 McQuerry Alamosa. Contributions are suggested to the Shea VanGieson Suicide Prevention Fund and may be made through the funeral home office. Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa is in care of the arrangements.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
