Elizabeth is dearly remembered for her good and kind nature: sweet, loyal, and always kind to everyone. Elizabeth was preceded to Heaven by her sister Jeanette Mary (Baldwin) Hendricks of Bloomington, California (6 December 1937-2009 June 9), and her father- and mother-in-law Ed and Ruby Hofeling of Redwood City, California, with whom she is at rest beside in Skylawn Memorial Park.
From the Los Altos Town Crier, Dec. 7, 2011 (losaltosonline.com):
Elizabeth was born in 1935 in Walla Walla, Washington. Subsequently, her family moved to Lebanon, Oregon, where she enjoyed a majority of her school years with her older sister Jeanette, her younger brother Richard, and many cousins who lived close by. Upon graduation from Lebanon High School in 1953, she went on to attend LDS Business College and Brigham Young University. After school, she went to New York City to live for a short period of time to be near her sister Jeanette and eventually settled in California. She had a few fun filled years in Santa Barbara by the beach and subsequently relocated to the Palo Alto area where she met her husband Ken (divorced) and raised her son Ken, Jr.
Elizabeth always had a zest for life and nature. She loved flowers and plants and was a docent at Filoli, an historical estate in Woodside, CA, for over ten years, where she enjoyed its exquisite gardens. She also loved her granddaughter, Kamryn, to whom she sent books and cards regularly. Her other love was the San Francisco Giants. She worked as an usher there for several years and followed them on TV when she wasn't at the stadium in person.
She is survived by her son Ken Hofeling (wife Jana), granddaughter Kamryn Hofeling, brother Richard Baldwin (wife Betty), and many nieces and nephews. Interment was at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, Ca. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Friends of Filoli, 86 Caņada Road, Woodside, CA 94062.
