Mary E. Gandy - SAVANNAH - Mary Evelyn Hodges Gandy, 94, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Louie Vernon Gandy, died Saturday morning, June 2, 2012, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Cleveland Hodges and the late Susie Lee Seckinger Hodges. Mrs. Gandy was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church and was a long time member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Hodges. Surviving are her son, Vernon Lee Gandy and his wife, Jane, of Savannah, Georgia; one granddaughter, Dale Lee Matthews and her husband, Alan of Savannah, Georgia; one grandson, Sean Mikel Gandy of Savannah, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Emily Creedon Gandy, Shelby Blake Matthews, Grace Anne Gandy and many cousins. The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue. The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in the Chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney.
