Margaret Elizabeth Sharlow 95, Indianapolis, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009. She was born November 28, 1913, in Marion, the daughter of the late John Calvin and Edna Alice (Roberts) Hodge.
She met her sweetheart, Harry Sharlow, during the Chicago's World's Fair and a year later were married October 31, 1934.
Margaret was a member of Northwood Christian Church, and a 75 year member of the Eastern Star. She attained her Master's degree in special education after raising her family, and worked as an Adjudicator for Indiana Social Security Disability, until retiring at the age of 70.
Margaret was honored as the second highest rated Social Security Adjudicator in the state of Indiana. Surviving is her husband of 74 years, Harry Sharlow, Indianapolis; four children, Terrell (Clara) Sharlow, Noblesville, Don (Julia Ellen) Sharlow, Weatherford, TX, Roger (Julia Ann) Sharlow, Plano, TX and Harriet (Ralph) Benavidez, Haddonfield, NJ; nine grandchildren, Tambria (Eddie) Sanchez, TX, Juanita Sharlow, TX, John (April) Sharlow, LA, Roger Calvin II (Gabriella) Sharlow, TX, Christina (Jackie) Blankenship, TX, Marc Sharlow, TX, Jennifer (Donald) Youngblood, TX, Ann Benavidez, NJ, and Karen Benavidez, NJ; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Vivian Mills.
