Bonnie passed away quietly April 18, 2011 surrounded by family.
Bonnie has been a resident of Grass Valley since 1975. With a passion and zest for life she and husband Bob have traveled extensively all over the world and enjoyed local clubs, dances, events and camping with their trailer. She was always planning their next trip or cruise.
She did everything from ride an elephant in Malaysia and a camel in Egypt to singing a solo with the piano man at the local Grange.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Bob Hocking; two sons, Ron Gouveia of Tracy, CA and Gary McCanna of Pacific, MO; one daughter Boots Evans of Grass Valley; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cathy P. of Pacific, MO and Pat Watkins of Benicia, CA.
Memorial service will be held Monday April 25, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, Nevada City.
A celebration of life will follow at Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Bldg, 255 S Auburn St, Grass Valley.
