A service of Thanksgiving for Ruth Hoch will be held on Saturday October 24, 2009 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester at 1 pm. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Ruth Hoch died at Samaritan Bethany Heights Rochester, Minnesota.
Ruth was born December 6, 1905 in Cooks Valley; near Kellogg, Minnesota. She was the eldest daughter of Charles and Lena (Cook) Graner Sr. She had three older brothers Gilbert, Charlie Jr. and Blake and two younger sisters Margaret and Grace. She graduated from High School and attended Winona Teachers College. She taught school till around 1950. She worked at St Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She also worked with her husband managing the barbershop and apartments. Ruth loved to bake and cook for her family and friends; she loved to make pickles, jellies, jams, pies, and cookies. She loved to garden, attend church and outings with their friends. She loved music and Bible study.
She is survived by her daughter Charlotte (Hoch) O'Hanlon, her granddaughters/goddaughters Debra and Pam O'Hanlon all of Rochester. Also, she is survived by her nieces/nephews, their children and grandchildren. Her husband, Irvin A. Hoch, her son in law Michael O'Hanlon, her siblings and their spouses, her parents, and grandparents all preceded her in death.
Friends may call Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home on Friday October 23, 2009 from 5-7 pm and one hour before the service on Saturday October 24, 2009.
